Study of Agricultural Master Plan & Water Management Plan
The Authority has in cooperation with some experience houses, prepared the study of the Agricultural Master Plan and Water Manipulation plan in relation to investment of water from the “ Jabel Hasawna – Jefara Water System of the MMR “ represented in the social, economic and technical studies to reach the optimum manner to invest these waters. The study extracted the following conclusions:

1. To provide existing projects with their requirements of water in order to keep up the huge investment invested in these projects and to improve production quality, provided that all existing wells to be closed on arrival of MMR waters.
2. Support farms and private property land at the coastal strip regions, which suffer of sharp shortage of water in the coastal aquifers and of seawater intrusion.
3. Creation of new agri-projects at sites decided and studied according to the following two forms of investment:
A- Settlement Projects “small farms”.
B- Productive Projects “large farms”.
Recommended investment considered the following goals, through Agricultural Master Plan studies:
A- To invest in existing projects and new locations of economic feasibility.
B- That investment should fulfill social development.
C- That investment observes preservation and development of ecology.
This study also specified the adequate cropping pattern and irrigation water requirements and storage capacity to each individual project.
