The MMR Water Transport Lines

Supply line to the area suffering from water shortage (Tripoli-BirTerfas branch transport line):-

The transport line supplying the area suffering from water shortage at the agricultural coastal strip along the eastern path of the system 64 Km long with diameters from 1600 to 4000 mm. it begins from Tripoli bypass in Sidi El-Saeh tank to BirTerfas project in Zawia region. It provides 79,195 hectares with water. The net cultivated area of a total area of 136,274 hectares, the most suffering are from water shortage in the coastal strip extending from eastern valley in Tajura to the east to the boundaries of Zuara municipality the west and Aziziya to the south. 9 distribution tanks of 86000 m3 capacity per tank will be constructed. Populated areas south of the line will be supplied with drinking water in the region of Sid El-Saeh, Sbaiaa and Azizya.

Tarhouna – Abu Zayan Conveyance System:-

Tarhouna – Abu Zayan Conveyance System has been designed to convey 800,000 m3/day of water to supply some of the Jefara plain projects and the JabelGharbi regions with a length of 83 km’s. This pipe line consists of PCCP for the diameter of 2.2 to 2.8 m. and steel pipe with 1.6 m diameter. And due to the height of Al –Jabel Al Gharbi area which reaches to 890 meters over sea level, No. ( 2 ) pumping station were designed for conveying the water to Abu Zayan tank in Al –Jabel Al Gharbi.

Abu Zayan – Al-Rheibat Conveyance System:-

This system consists of concrete tank of 300,000 m3 capacity split into five cells at Abu Zayanarea.And ushered commencement of project operations. Water shall be supplied by gravity flow from Abu Zayan Storage Tank to all locations situated in the JabelGharbi regions through a Conveyance System that extends for 118 km’s with diameters ranging from 800 to 1,600 mm.

Project also comprises in its design 44 supply Tanks, 18 of which are 500 m3 and 26 tanks of 1,000 m3 capacities. There is also a break Pressure Tank at Al-Reyaina region. Capacity is 13,000 m3and the Final Regulating Tank at Al-Rheibat region with total capacity of 27,000m3. Line also contains 14 turn outs to supply domestic water to different locations of the JabelGharbi region.
