Responsibilities

As per Decree of Establishment the “Authority for the Utilization of Jabel Hasawna – Jefara Water System of the Man-Made River” is dedicated to organize and invest waters of  MMR Jabel Hasawna – Jefara Water System in order to reach maximum level of take all necessary procedures to collaboration with others. The Authority is concerned in particular with the following:-

1.     Preparation of technical and economic studies and research related to utilization and investment of waters of Jabel Hasawna – Jefara Conveyance System in agricultural activities with economic feasibility through establishment of complete agricultural projects and other projects for individual possession and to specify locations of these projects, their areas, crop pattern and suitable irrigation systems and water requirements.

2.     Preparation of economic and technical specifications for the agricultural projects which are to be implemented with the plan to invest waters of Jabel Hasawna – Jefara Water System and to prepare engineering design works for these projects and their relevant specifications and documentations by making contracts of implementation in collaboration with national science organizations and specialized consultant with national science organizations and specialized consultant bureau in order to reach the optimum method to invest these waters.

3.     To implement various agricultural projects and the complementary facilities through the following tasks:

A-      Delegating tasks to companies of the “ Authority for the Utilization of Jabel Hasawna – Jefara Water System of the Man-Made River “ or to request services of work teams, local agricultural partnerships which are registered at the Authority these companies then perform works according to programs and approved specifications having the validity of the “General Work Contracts” and in accordance to rates and terms in which consideration is given to use of machinery and other local or imported facilities provided by the Authority . Plus other criteria that guarantees creation of national execution bodies.

B-      Participation in different manner with specialized companies and establishments which perform similar works, by contribution of such firms in works of the Authority or to assist in fulfilling targets.

C-      Contracting with foreign, Arab and national companies through invitation of bids or projects in conformity to current rules and regulations and as per valid legislation.

4.     Management and operation of agricultural projects organized by the Authority directly or by participation with local and foreign companies.

5.     Processing and marketing production of projects based on MMRWUA waters local and abroad directly or by participation with others.

6.     Provision of equipment, machinery and required facilities to implement its projects from the local market and through importing within its scope of works.

Proceeding of all works and performance that assist realize targets of the Authority were created for within the scope of works.
